PDO Nose Thread Lift

What is a PDO Nose Thread Lift?

PDO Nose ThreadLift is a popular safe non-surgical way of enhancing the shape of the nose and improving its contours, without any surgery. Compared to traditional rhinoplasty  involving surgery and incisions, this procedure is non-surgical, minimally invasive with low downtime.

It is able to raise the nose bridge and nose tip making it higher, straighter and more defined without invasive nose implant surgery. After doing the PDO Threadlift the nose appears slimmer and more elegant. It is especially suited to straighten the nose and to improve contour.

The PDO Nose Threadlift is extremely popular in Korea and Japan where it is commonly known as the HIKO “lunch-time” nose lift. The threads used are called PDO (polydioxanone) which are completely absorbed over time.

As they dissolve, these ultra-fine threads create new tissue fibroblasts and collagen, giving a tightening effect and further enhancing the nose contour. Results last up to 2 years. Nose threadlifts are safe and can be repeated as required.

PDO Nose Thread Lift vs Dermal filler

Nose augmentation using fillers is a quick procedure that lasts about 9 months to 1 year. The concern with fillers is possible migration of the filler which could lead to a broader looking nose. Fillers used in the nose have a higher risk  as vascular compromise e.g. blindness can occur.

Nose augmentation using PDO Threadlifts, is very safe without any vascular risk and results lasts up to 2 years Unlike fillers, threadlifts do not migrate or spread over time. As the threads dissolve, stimulation of collagen occurs enhancing the results.

HIKO Threadlift

Lasts up to 2 years

Does not Migrate

Stimulates natural collagen production

Filler

Lasts less that 1 year

Migrates or spreads (may broaden nose)

May cause lumpiness

PDO Nose Thread Lift vs Rhinoplasty Surgery

Rhinoplasty surgery is an alternative way of shaping the nose. While the results of a rhinoplasty are long-lasting, it is a surgical and invasive procedure that requires full sedation. It typically involves a long recovery time of 3 months to 1 year. In addition, the high cost of a rhinoplasty needs to be considered.

PDO Nose threadlift however, is non-surgical and minimally invasive. The procedure takes just 20 minutes and requires only topical numbing cream with minimal downtime.
